[glow=red,2,300]Is There Any Truth to the 2012 Predictions?[/glow]
For several years there has been a public awareness of a prediction that has been based upon the Mayan Calendar concerning December of 2012. According to authors and historians who consider themselves “experts” in deciphering the image cut into stone found on the former land of the Mayan Indians in Mexico, the long count calendar cycle ends on December 21, 2012.
Based on the interpretation of these images, there will be terrible cataclysmic and cosmic events occurring on this day and beyond. Some have gone as far as suggesting the end of the world and the end of modern society as we know it.
There are some who are already hording food and building underground bunkers to survive what they believe is coming.
If you are preparing anything, prepare your heart to follow Christ and prepare your spirit to enter into the prayer closet and seek the Lord in these crisis seasons.

From time to time I receive e-mails asking what I think will unfold in 2012. Several months ago a friend began to examine in detail not just the history of the calendar but the date that had been set. He realized that most writers had left something out that was very important which is that with the addition of leap years and the fact those 5 additional days were added to the Gregorian calendar, and then the date of the cycle had already passed!
Months ago Pam read to me a post on the internet from this gentleman and we both laughed thinking, “So the date on our present calendar has actually passed and no cosmic upheavals!”
Let me say that I treat this prediction similar to predictions that writers and prognosticators have made in by-gone days. It is the opinion of those interpreting the calendar that these things will happen.
It is just like those who follow Nostradamus the seer.
The confusing quatrains and verses he left the world are subject to the interpretation of those reading them, including certain names that are listed. This is where the Bible is different. The prophecies of the Bible are not of any private interpretation (2 Pet. 1:20). They are very detailed and precise in their wording and predictions. The prophets named people, places and exact details.
It does not take a student of Nostradamus or a specialist on the Mayan calendar to know that from the prophetic scriptures, during the future Great Tribulation (Matt. 24:21) there will be massive global earthquakes, asteroids, and “fallen stars” and the earth will be in an upheaval, considered in, “The whole creation travaileth” (Rom. 8:22).
The numerous Scriptures in Isaiah and Revelation and other prophetic verses in the Bible are all that is needed for anyone to comprehend that we do not need a Mayan prediction from a carved rock, when the original Rock - God the father (Deut 32:18) and Christ (11 Cor. 10:4) are where our messages originate and we can totally trust the inspired Scriptures to bring us the revelation of God that will come to pass.
If you are preparing anything, prepare your heart to follow Christ and prepare your spirit to enter into the prayer closet and seek the Lord in these crisis seasons. It is in the secret place where you will find the righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit (Rom. 14:17) to sustain you! I expect to be here in tact and in on piece on December 25, Christmas Day, 2012, eating dinner with my sweet family!
God Bless you all,
